Songwriters In The Round

Raised in the shadow of Billy Bob's, one of Texas's legendary honky tonks, Joel Thetford grew up in Fort Worth listening to the sounds of classic country radio and the wide variety of rock and roll, blues, and folk music that the Texas scene provided. His career as a bull-rider landed him eventually in Stephenville, where the Texas Country scene was booming. With acts like Gary Stewart, Jerry Jeff Walker, and Robert Earl Keen, making regular stops in town, those were Joel's earliest and strongest influences as he began writing songs.

Ben Cosgrove is a traveling composer, pianist, and multi-instrumentalist from northern New England. He performs regularly all over the country, presenting a unique variety of original instrumental music that explores themes of landscape, geography, and environment while straddling a line between folk and classical music. “Like a sonic plein-air painter,” wrote the Boston Globe, “[Cosgrove] uses his piano as a paintbrush — and he’s made a name for himself doing it.” His “electric and exhilarating” solo piano performances are at once dazzling and intimate: music that has been described as “stunning” and “compelling and powerful,” — Red Line Roots has called him “stupidly talented” — all presented with “warmth, humor, honesty, and the easy familiarity of a troubadour.”

Hannah Daman first cut her teeth in Glasgow, Scotland writing and playing songs about her childhood in rural New England. After striking out on a North American house show tour in 2014 she ended up rooting in Portland, Maine.

Thomas Charles Clukey is a talented singer and songwriter hailing from the beautiful state of Maine. Born and raised in this picturesque New England region, his upbringing greatly influenced his music. While Maine's natural beauty and serene landscapes provided a constant source of inspiration, it was the close-knit community and down-to-earth spirit that truly shaped his musical style. With his soulful voice and heartfelt lyrics, Thomas captures the essence of Maine in his songs, creating a musical experience that resonates deeply with listeners. From the rocky coastlines to the peaceful forests, his music encapsulates the rugged charm of his home state, captivating audiences and showcasing the unique artistic talent that flourishes in this quiet corner of the world.
